Tribute To The Troops started its first chapter in Minnesota in 2004, inspired by a video featuring the song "Home" by country singer Rockie Lynne. The video features images of our fallen heroes, beginning with the lives lost during the United States' presence in Iraq. With inspiration from the video, a small group of concerned Minnesotans from the Twin Cities joined together to conduct the 1st Tribute To The Troops Ride in the Fall of 2004. Over 60 people on 45 motorcycles visited the families of three fallen soldiers, conveying their thanks to each family and letting them know that their loss and sacrifice would never be forgotten. The day was filled with hugs, tears, and warm smiles as each participant was able to personally acknowledge these families and their loss. The dedication and support of many volunteers and participants has enabled this organization to continue its important mission.
Each year, the number of participants has grown, helping to increase awareness for the ultimate sacrifice made by these brave American heroes and their families.
